A car audio system is used as : -
- Mid and tweeter speakers are designed to function well if their face is fixed to a solid surface without a specially designed cabinet.
- Bass speakers, if installed in correct sized cabinets, will play frequencies as low as 10Hz.
- Even though such a system needs a transformer to adapt it to run from mains power (expensive but recommended),or several 12V batteries,(will need recharging so not reccomended), overall this is the much more economical route.
SPEAKERS:
- mids+tweeters:
CDT, Controlled Dispersion Technology ,
- sub-woofers :
RW12 Massive Audio. (ESSENTIAL: frequency range = at least 20Hz to 30Khz).
AMPLIFIERS:
- Genesis Profile1, Profile 4 and Profile 4 ultra amplifiers
CABLING.
- The highest quality cables and gold plated connectors required in all instances.
SPEAKER ENCLOSURES:
- Mids and Tweeters.
The mids + tweeters are to be mounted in the side framework of the bed, which will act as a speaker enclosure as long as it is relatively sealed. The actual volume of air inside the framework is relatively unimportant.
- Subwoofer enclosures: material= birch plywood, 3/4 inch thickness.
The subwoofers are going into individually sealed boxes of 1.25 cubic foot internal capacity.
Essential that box is air tight for the subs to efficiently transfer electrical energy into physical movement of air.
NOTE: Because of the complexity of the design the Bed builder must correspond with supplier of the speakers to ensure that all the details are correctly understood so that it can be built to function correctly.
